Open Studios

Open studios in East Boston started off fairly slow, but really gained momentum on Sunday afternoon. There were lots of interesting folks stopping by and enjoying the art and the artists in the building.

We'll probably have another this fall.

I also found out that my studio works well as a gallery!

A walk next door

There's an abandoned lot next to the Atlantic Works building where my studio is. I recently found a hole in the chain link fence that surrounds the peoperty and decided to go for a little walk. This was a ship building neighborhood and there are lots of what's left of the wooden docks that used to be here. The light plays off the old wood pileings beautifully.

A walk at Walden Woods

It's always good to get outside, especially after such a long cold winter. On the first 60 degree day, I went out to Walden Pond to walk around and soak up some sun. Walden can be a very calming place. Somewhere to stop and focus on the moment. These are some pictures from that day. The trails were still covered in snow and the pond was frozen, but the sun was warm and the slight breeze felt good. I'll be returning on the next warmer day.
